A huge weight has been lifted…

…from my dining room floor! After 3 postings on craigslist.org, one no-show, and not really a whole lot of interest, I have *finally* managed to sell my old dresser and get it the heck out of my dining room. Thankfully. I was starting to think that no one would ever want it, and I was having nightmares about how on earth I was ever going to get it down the stairs. I sold it to a nice young couple (? still haven’t figured that out…she said something about putting the dresser in ‘her’ room) who live in Alexandria, Virginia. I made sure to advertise that it does have multiple scratches on it from my cat, but they have cats too, and didn’t seem to mind. Unfortunately, the matching nightstand did not fit in their car, and they have decided not to repeat the drive to come back for it. At least it’s light enough for me to carry down the stairs!

Now all I have left to do is get my butt in gear and organize a yard sale to get rid of the rest of the stuff, and then I will have room in my dining room for – gasp! – a dining room table!!! I suppose the first step there is to figure out where I’m going to have it…

I know I haven’t written in awhile and one of the two people that read my blog has complained (quit nagging me, Mom!). My daughter started high school a few weeks ago, and I’m afraid the experience may be the death of me. Not only does she seem to have a lot more homework than last year, but school starts almost an hour earlier – at 7:25 am. Those of you who know me know that I am NOT A MORNING PERSON. I’ve been trying hard to get used to the new routine, but that 5:45 am alarm is just awful. I’ve gotten myself into this cycle that I can’t seem to break. I get up way too early, and am pretty much exhausted all day long. I did get an earlier schedule at work out of this, which is nice when I get to leave on time. (Hasn’t happened yet, but I’m hopeful!) We usually get home around 5 or 5:30, and I am at my most tired from then until around 7 or 8. (If I make the mistake of being still for any length of time, I fall asleep) After that, I seem to get my second wind, and even if I do manage to avoid an evening nap, by the time bedtime rolls around, I am wide awake. I go to bed sometime between 10 and 11pm, typically wake up at least 2 or 3 times during the night, and then wake up exhausted again!

Only 3 years and 8 months or so to go!!
