My next big challenge…

Well, so far, so good. The scale read 194.5 this morning, and while I’m still not convinced that I am losing anything more than just water at this point (I mean really, who loses 4.5 pounds in 5 days unless they’re just not eating anything at all??), it’s still nice to see the numbers decrease! I usually have to be dieting for a week or two before I start to see any results…maybe the fact that I’ve cut out caffeine makes a difference.

Anyway…in addition to my carb-pushing coworkers, I am now faced with a new dieting challenge. This morning I woke up with a sore throat. It has persisted throughout the day. Typically, when I am about to get sick, a sore throat is my first symptom.  I hope that I am *not* getting sick, because as some of you may know, I have had more than my fair share of colds/sinus infections/bird flu infestations in the past several months, and quite frankly, I’m getting a little sick of being sick! But if I am indeed coming down with something, it’s going to take everything in me to stay on this diet. Who wants to eat salad when they aren’t feeling well? I know I sure don’t. When I’m sick I want comfort food. I’ve been craving lemon italian ices all day today, wanting to feel something cold on my throat. And yes, I know that there are most likely some low carb popsicles out there, somehow they just don’t seem to be the same…
