Do you remember the story of Peter Pan? More specifically, do you remember the crocodile that was responsible for giving Captain Hook his name? At some point the reptile had swallowed an alarm clock, so you could always tell when he was near by the “tick-tock” sound.
I was lying awake in bed the other night, probably sometime between 2 and 3 in the morning, and I heard a “tick tick tick tick tick” sound. It started someplace down the hall, possibly in the living room or the kitchen, and moved steadily closer until it was in the room with me. It stopped for a moment, then started again until it was right next to the bed. There was quiet for awhile, then the sound moved off, out of my bedroom and down the hallway until it faded away.
Either I have a crocodile living in my condo, or the cat needs her nails trimmed.
